Aga Khan Museum: Pop-Ups & Offsite Projects

Role: Curation, curatorial management, production, budget management, artistic planning, fundraising, partnership development

Oversaw 200+ offsite and informal pop-ups performances for the Aga Khan Museum’s performing arts department. Pop-up performances featured emerging and newcomer artists, taking place throughout gallery and public spaces of the museum. 15+ offsite presentations took place throughout Canada and the GTA, with a mix of festivals, outdoor stages, performance hall presentations, and out of town residencies. All programs emphasized cross-cultural exchange and collaboration.

Out on the Town: Offsite Projects

. Highlights include Lula Lounge’s Women in Percussion festival, featuring Rajna Swaminathan, and partnerships with TD Toronto Jazz Festival, the Canadian Opera Company, the Downtown Yonge BIA, Union Station, Uma Nota’s flagship Mixto festival, and Gros Morne Summer Music in Cornerbrook Newfoundland.

Pop-Ups Program

Sponsored by TD Bank, the Pop-Ups Program presented concerts three times a week throughout the year. Highlighting newcomer and emerging artists, the program presented free performances in public spaces of the museum, as well as mainstage development opportunities as part of the annual programming season.
