March Break 2018: Robots!

Role: Program producer, partnership development, budget management, operations and logistics

March Break at the Ontario Science Centre is the highest traffic period for the institution throughout the year — roughly 15,000 people come through the doors over a 7-day period. In 2018, the thematic focus for all public programs was on robotics.

Daily demonstrations of robot battles and competitions in a custom built and designed ring, drone demonstrations with live video tracking, hands-on robot-building activities and speed car tests, and live coding workshops. All ages programming included creating your own POP Bot for a safe, family-driven robot competition. Installations included an 12-foot high foam robot and the installation of the Mars Rover. Partnerships included First Robotics, Microsoft, and Ryerson University.
